Independent data processing

1. Candidate data processing

Application process: Professional managers – in cooperation with the internal Data Protection Officer – are responsible for selecting suitable employees and safeguarding applicants’ rights.

CVs received on paper or electronically are treated identically. As a rule, CVs are categorised for future vacancies; data in the database are destroyed after one year. Applicants are informed in writing (ED 168) about the processing, its legal basis and their right to object.

CVs by recommendation: Employees may recommend acquaintances, but must declare that they are authorised by the data subject. The declaration and the CV are kept until the end of the retention period, then destroyed. In every such case, the recommended person receives an information letter.

Purpose: selecting suitable candidates and processing their personal data

2. Processing related to fulfilment of a public-service mission

The Company’s main activity is passenger transport. During scheduled local services personal data may be recorded.

Camera-surveillance processing subject to Act XLI of 2012 is detailed in the “Processing of Data Related to Camera Surveillance” section.

For season-ticket holders personal data are requested to issue the pass, but no separate register is kept; therefore processing under the Hungarian Data-Protection Act (Infotv.) does not take place.

Processing of data relating to unauthorised use of the service

Under § 7 (1)–(4) of Act XLI / 2012, the Company (or its representative) may process data necessary to identify passengers who have not paid the fare, verify travel entitlement and check lawful use of concessions.

  • Identification data:
    • name at birth / current name
    • date & place of birth
    • mother’s maiden name
    • address
  • Travel-benefit details – title, ID, type, validity, issuer
  • Route / validity period for route- or date-based discounts

The Company performs ticket inspection itself; data are recorded electronically, printed in duplicate (one copy for the passenger, one retained) and stored 3-5 years depending on the case.

3. Data processing when using an occasional service

For occasional (shuttle) orders, the client provides:

  • name / company
  • postal & billing address
  • tax number, register number
  • representative & contact details
  • signature

Order forms are retained on paper for the invoice-retention period.

4. Data processing when using flexible services

Required for registration: name, phone number and e-mail (for online registration). Only registered users may place requests.

Purpose: operation of on-demand flexible services
Data: name, phone, e-mail

5. Data processing related to arrears management

The Company processes data of persons with outstanding balances.

Data: name, address, birth data, mother’s name, billing/payment info, phone, e-mail

Retention: until settlement, max. 5 years

6. Customer-service data processing

Complaints may be lodged orally or in writing; verbal complaints are recorded in a report signed by all parties.

Data recorded: name, address, registration no., phone, signature, notification method, service concerned, description & reason, claimant’s demand, supporting documents, authorisation, other necessary data

Purpose: identify complainant & investigate

Retention: max. 2 years

7. Data processing related to notification of damage

Damage cases are logged electronically and stored 5 years.

Purpose: investigate damage, assess claims, forward to liable party/insurer
Legal basis: consent (Act CXII § 5 (1) a)
Retention: 5 years

Data recipients: Allianz Hungária Biztosító Zrt.; INTER TAN-KER Zrt.; contracted insurer.

8. Data processing related to website operation

The Company operates dkv.hu, dkvejegy.hu  and hivomabuszt.dkv.hu. Some functions require registration; hosting is provided by an external provider. Anonymous statistical data are collected automatically.

Cookies: the site uses HTTP cookies to improve service quality. Users may delete/disable them in their browser.

9. Data processing related to camera surveillance

The Company operates CCTV on certain premises, tram stops, depots and vehicles in line with Acts XLI / 2012 and CXXXIII / 2005.

Recordings may be requested to be preserved within 15 days; if justified they are kept until the case closes (min. 6 months, max. 5 years). Unused footage is deleted automatically on the 16th day.

10. Entry & exit of motor vehicles – data processing

At the Debrecen, Salétrom 3 site, number-plate recognition cameras log vehicle entry/exit; data are stored 72 hours.

Via the Contact menu, customers may request information, rectification, erasure or blocking of their personal data.
