As another milestone in the collaboration between the Regional Service of the Hungarian National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) and DKV Zrt., the company has established three Life-Saving Points at its facilities. At the same time, 80 employees voluntarily committed to participating in life-saving training provided by the Ambulance Service.

In Hungary, 70 people experience sudden cardiac arrest every day. In 2022, DKV Debreceni Közlekedési Zrt. requested assistance from the Ambulance Service nearly 200 times due to passenger illnesses on their vehicles. Prompt intervention can often save lives. Every minute of delay decreases the chance of successful resuscitation by 7-12%.

As part of the Life-Saving Program, DKV Zrt. purchased three LIFEPAK CR2 devices. Approximately 80 employees of DKV Zrt. volunteered and received training led by the Ambulance Service, which lasted several hours and covered the necessary knowledge for resuscitation. These skills will be refreshed annually.

In addition to the rules of resuscitation and defibrillator use, the company's employees also learned various techniques that enable them to provide professional assistance to passengers in distress on the vehicles.

After acquiring the necessary professional knowledge, DKV Zrt. will become one of the Life-Saving Points in Debrecen, starting from May 23, 2023. The company has installed a defibrillator at the busiest terminal, Petőfi Square, as well as at the Salétrom Street depot and the Határ Road starting point, where there is no defibrillator nearby. These will also be available on the ÉletMentő App platform, which anyone can use at any time if assistance is needed.

Since March 8, 2023, the message "Waiting for an ambulance" appears on the displays of buses, trolleybuses, and trams operated by the company in case of passenger illness. The display image helps the ambulance services locate the affected vehicle more quickly, and healthcare professionals passing by can intervene rapidly and efficiently until the arrival of the ambulance. In such cases, in addition to dialing the emergency number 112, the National Ambulance Service's ÉletMentő app and the SzívCity application also provide significant assistance.
