You can now travel with national and county passes in Debrecen
In Debrecen, for the first time among county seat cities! From December 24, 2025, DKV Debreceni Közlekedési Zrt. will introduce several favorable changes for passengers, further enhancing the interoperability of public transport and simplifying the use and acquisition of passes.
Passengers can travel on DKV routes with national and county passes
From December 24, 2025, the scheduled services of DKV Zrt. can be used with valid national passes and Hajdú-Bihar county passes, significantly easing county and city transport.
The sales points for Hajdú-Bihar county passes will further expand
From the same date, Hajdú-Bihar county passes can be purchased in popular electronic form on the dkvejegy.hu website, at the permanent and temporary ticket offices of DKV Zrt., as well as at authorized customer service points.
Available pass types
General Hajdú-Bihar county pass, which can be purchased for e-ID cards, Debrecen City Cards, and for foreign passengers, a virtual ID.
Student Hajdú-Bihar county pass, for full-time and evening students with a student ID.
Senior Hajdú-Bihar county pass, for passengers with travel vouchers, tied to e-ID cards or Debrecen City Cards.
Hajdú-Bihar county passes are valid from the start of operations on the selected validity start date, or from the time of purchase on the start date, until the day before the same day of the following month (for example: from December 24 to January 23), and allow unlimited travel within the validity period.
During checks, the identification document, Debrecen City Card, or student ID must be presented, which was provided during the online purchase of the pass. Of course, the national and Hajdú-Bihar county passes purchased from any other provider or through other channels are also accepted on DKV Zrt. routes.
Acceptance of DKV passes on MÁV and Volán routes
Also from December 24, 2025, the valid annual, monthly, and mid-month passes of DKV Zrt. will be accepted in both paper and electronic form on MÁV and Volán routes, within the administrative borders of Debrecen.
Accepted passes include general, student, and senior monthly passes, the monthly pass without a photo, electronic monthly, mid-month, and annual passes, as well as passes related to the City Card for families with young children and Junior.
From January 1, 2026, the price and appearance of DKV Zrt. value vouchers will not change.
With the above measures, DKV Zrt. aims to further promote public transport, simplify travel, and strengthen the interoperability between urban and regional transport systems.
