First Among Cities with County Rights, in Debrecen!

From December 24, 2025, DKV Debreceni Közlekedési Zrt. will introduce several passenger-friendly changes that further strengthen the interoperability of public transport and make the use and purchase of passes more simple.

Travel on DKV Services with a Hungary Pass and County Pass

From December 24, 2025, scheduled services operated by DKV Zrt. can also be used with a valid Hungary Pass and a Hajdú-Bihar County Pass, significantly facilitating both county and city travel.

Expanded Sales Points for the Hajdú-Bihar County Pass

From the same date, Hajdú-Bihar County Passes will be available in popular electronic format on the dkvejegy.hu website, at DKV Zrt.’s permanent and temporary ticket offices, and at authorized customer service points.

Available Pass Types

General Hajdú-Bihar County Pass Available for purchase linked to an e-ID card, Debrecen City Card, or for foreign passengers, a virtual identification number.

Student Hajdú-Bihar County Pass Available for full-time and evening-course students with a valid student ID.

Validity of the Hajdú-Bihar County Pass

The Hajdú-Bihar County Pass is valid from the start of service on the selected first day of validity – or, if purchased on the starting day, from the time of purchase – until the end of service on the day preceding the same calendar day of the following month (for example: from December 24 to January 23).

Within the validity period, it allows unlimited travel.

During ticket inspection, passengers must present the ID card, Debrecen City Card, or student ID that was provided during the online purchase.

Hungary Passes and Hajdú-Bihar County Passes purchased from other service providers or through other sales channels are also accepted on DKV Zrt. services.

In such cases, during inspection on board, passengers must present:

  • a valid identification document;
  • in the case of discounted passes, the document proving eligibility;
  • for students, a valid student ID;
  • for pensioners, a valid travel voucher for beneficiaries.

Acceptance of DKV Passes on MÁV and Volán Services

Also from December 24, 2025, valid annual, monthly, and mid-month DKV passes – both paper-based and electronic – will be accepted on MÁV and Volán services within the administrative boundaries of Debrecen.

Accepted passes include, among others:

  • general, student, and pensioner monthly passes,
  • monthly passes without photo,
  • electronic monthly, mid-month, and annual passes,
  • passes linked to the Small Child and Junior Debrecen City Cards.
